Textron Aviation is ending production of its iconic Beechcraft Baron G58 and Beechcraft Bonanza G36 once its current order backlog is filled, the company confirmed Nov. 20.

The move is part of the company’s product investment plan, it said in a statement. It has removed both aircraft from its product lineup on the Textron Aviation website.

“This strategic shift will enable Textron Aviation to focus on welcoming the Beechcraft Denali into its product portfolio while thoughtfully assessing future investments within this segment,” Textron Aviation said.

Certification and first deliveries of the Denali are expected in 2026.

“Known for their power and craftsmanship, the Baron and Bonanza aircraft have been cornerstones of the company’s leadership in the piston market for nearly eight decades,” the company says.

December 2025 will mark the 80th anniversary of the first flight of the Beechcraft Bonanza. More than 6,000 Barons and 18,000 Bonanzas have been delivered worldwide.

The move was not a surprise, Thomas Turner, American Bonanza Society executive director, tells Aviation Week. The company has not been taking orders for some time. Deliveries have been slow. In 2024, the company delivered five Bonanza G36 aircraft and two Baron G58 aircraft, according to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association.

“It will be 80 years next month since the first flight of the Bonanza,” Turner says. “That’s a phenomenal run.”
