Rob Balzano, a retired Air Force Colonel and former F-16 pilot, has been named CEO of the Citation Jet Pilots Owner Pilot Association (CJP), replacing David Miller, who has served as interim CEO since August 2023 and is a founding member of the organization.

In 2006, Balzano founded the Check-6 Foundation, which provides help to children with serious illnesses and to military veterans in need. He serves as the foundation’s president. Balzano has served as National Program Manager with the Department of Defense National Guard Bureau, senior advisor and interagency policy liaison at North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD)–CONUS Region/1st AF/AFNORTH and as director of risk management and aviation safety officer for the Air National Guard. He also has been an instructor pilot for the Boeing Business Jet and Gulfstream G100 military VIP transport aircraft, where he was in command of flying the First Lady of the U.S., congressional delegations and military leaders.

Most recently, Balzano served as director of aviation for Micron Technology.

“We are very excited to have Rob join our team,” says Blake Curd, CJP chairman. “Talk to anyone who has flown with or around him, and you will hear the story of a master aviator. Not only is Rob the commensurate pilot: he is also a proven, dedicated and highly regarded leader at all levels. Having Rob in the left seat at CJP alongside our dedicated team positions us for continued and new success.”
