Corporate Angel Network’s (CAN) annual auction and cocktail fundraiser typically is held on the second night of the National Business Aviation Association Convention & Exhibition (NBAA). This year it is going virtual. 

The organization, which arranges free travel on corporate aircraft for patients needing treatment at cancer centers around the U.S., was forced to adjust its schedule after NBAA canceled its event planned for Oct. 6-8 in Orlando, Florida, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Auction items include vacation packages, aviation memorabilia and artwork. Donors also may make financial pledges directly to the organization. 

Bids close at 8 p.m. EDT on Oct. 7, the same time they would have closed had the event taken place at NBAA. 

The pandemic has affected CAN’s finances and the availability of aircraft.
