Broken Blade Caused Engine Problems on Air NZ's 747-400
Air New Zealand's inspection of an engine that failed on a flight from London to Los Angeles Sept. 25 revealed a section of one of the blades of the Boeing 747-400 had broken off. The Rolls-Royce RB211-52G is scheduled for delivery at the airline Oct. 7.
