There were 1,214 accidents involving general aviation aircraft in 2016 and of those, 195 resulted in fatalities, an accounting released in October says. Even though the number of accidents increased by 41 over the previous year’s tally, fatal mishaps declined by 26. Meanwhile, flight hours increased roughly 2% to 24.6 million.
