FAA yesterday expanded an emergency order to inspect Airbus A340 engines for worn or improperly installed harness clamps that could contribute to fuel leaks. The airworthiness directive (AD) instructs operators to check certain clamps, nearby manifolds and a wire harness on CFM International CFM56-5Cs by May 24, or 10 days from the rule's effective date.
