Copa Airlines CEO Pedro Heilbron has been named to receive this year’s Tony Jannus Award, on Oct. 30. Dedicated to “honoring exceptional leaders in the aviation community,” the Tony Jannus Society chose Heilbron for his achievements in the aviation industry. Heilbron joined Copa in 1988. The award perpetuates the legacy of the world’s first scheduled commercial airline, initiated and operated by Jannus on Jan. 1, 1914, between St. Petersburg and Tampa, Fla.
