Diamond Aircraft delivered the 400th Diamond DA40NG built in Austria as it celebrated the 20th anniversary of the aircraft prototype’s first flight. The DA40 was certified in 2000 and serial production started in Canada. In 2001, the DA40 TDI, powered by rail diesel technology, flew for the first time in Austria, with certification in 2002. In 2010, the company received certification of the DA40 NG with a 168-hp Austro Engine jet engine.
