FAA, EASA certifies CFM LEAP-1A engine for A320neo

The CFM International LEAP-1A engine, one of two engine choices on the Airbus A320neo, has been jointly certified by FAA and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
Colorful Guizhou to launch Dec. 28

China’s new regional startup Colorful Guizhou Airlines is scheduled to launch its inaugural flight Dec. 28 with an Embraer E190 initially on some regional routes in the Guizhou Province and neighboring provinces.
Bombardier has “completed certification flight testing” on the CS100, SVP-commercial aircraft sales and asset management Colin Bole said.
EasyJet orders 36 A320ceos, neos

New lounge at New York JFK features airplane replica

A one-of-a-kind, 1,500-sq.-ft. airplane replica, with real steel and other parts from actual aircraft, was recently installed in the world-class retail lounge of New York JFK’s Terminal 4. Designed and constructed as part of a Jose Cuervo marketing campaign, the plane relives the Rolling Stones iconic 1972 North American tour, known as the “Tequila Sunrise Tour.” The airplane display will remain in the terminal through the end of the year.

China Airlines to take delivery of first A350 in July 2016

Taipei-based China Airlines expects to take delivery of its first of 14 Airbus A350-900s in July 2016, a spokesperson confirmed to ATW in Taipei. Egypt to head Metrojet crash investigation

Egyptian aviation authorities will take the lead in the investigation of the Metrojet Airbus A321crash, which occurred Oct. 31 in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula shortly after takeoff from Sham el-Sheikh airport. The A321 was operating as flight 9268 to St. Petersburg when it crashed, killing all 217 passengers and seven crew members.
