Senegalese government look at Boeing aircraft for Senegal Airlines
The Senegalese government is looking at a fleet of six Boeing narrowbody aircraft for Senegal Airlines.
The carrier is looking at sourcing its first Boeing aircraft with a proposed purchase of six B737-800s from JetLease at XOF114 billion (USD198 million).
In order for the agreements to go through, the government will have to set up an independent company that will then lease the aircraft to the carrier, to avoid having the aircraft impounded abroad by creditors owed over XOF60 billion (USD104.2 million) by Senegal Airlines.
