Saudia cargo aircraft suffers fire after runway excursion

Flights were suspended at the Nigerian capital's airport, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, following an incident with a Saudia cargo aircraft yesterday.

Described as a “serious incident” The Saudia Boeing 747 cargo aircraft overran the runway and ran into a maintenance area of the airport before bursting into flames, according to witnesses. The fire was promptly put out and there wer no reported casualties.
