Qatar Airways announced six new African destinations in route expansion
Qatar Airways has announced a network expansion, with 14 new destinations across Africa, Europe and Asia being added.
Qatar Airways’ group chief executive, His Excellency Akbar Al Baker announced the expansion on the opening day of ITB Berlin.
“These new destinations are where our customers want to go, and where we see the most opportunity to provide a best-in-class experience at great value,” said Al Baker.
There will be six new destinations in Africa. Flights from Doha to Marrakech will begin in July at three times a week on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Four flights per week between Doha and Windhoek will begin in late September. The daily scheduled service to the Seychelles is due to resume in December.
January will see the launch of three flights per week from Doha to Douala and Libreville, using one aircraft. A non-stop service, three times weekly from Doha to Lusaka (Zambia) will also begin by summer 2017.
