Poll: Will More European Countries Shut Down Their Borders Again?

Budapest, Hungary-based Wizz Air has been taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the COVID-19 crisis to move into new routes and open up bases, but it warned Sept. 1 that mobility restrictions could push its planned ramp-up off course.

The announcement came as Hungary abruptly closed its borders to all non-residents, with a few exceptions, on Sept. 1. That move follows the likes of Germany and the UK, which also introduced new quarantine measures for arrivals from some destinations in recent weeks.

Airlines and airports around Europe have been warning that inconsistent and rapidly changing quarantine regulations imposed by individual countries are hampering traveler confidence and harming the air traffic recovery.
