IATA has set out guidance for air cargo operators as the industry gets ready to play an important role in the distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine.
After almost a year of unprecedented upheaval across the world, hopes that the arrival of a vaccine—or vaccines—could contribute to a return to a more normal way of life are increasing. Encouraging news from Pfizer and BioNTech came on Nov. 9, with the companies saying that their COVID-19 vaccine candidate was over 90% effective against the virus in its first interim efficacy analysis. Then on Nov. 16 U.S. biotech company Moderna said that its vaccine candidate showed almost 95% efficacy in phase 3 trials.
