Jordan Aviation falls foul of EU safety laws

The Kuwait official news agency has reported that the European Union has imposed operating restrictions of Amman based carrier Jordan Aviation.

KUNA said yesterday that the EU is excluding three aircraft of type Boeing 767 from its fleet operating into the EU due to "repeated safety deficiencies." The European Commission revealed the 18th update of the list of airlines banned in the EU yesterday
The EU's executive body in a statement said it is ready to "support efforts of the authorities of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the air carrier to improve safety in a sustainable manner also through an assessment visit." The EU also decided to impose an operating ban on all operations of Rollins Air certified in Honduras.
The statement said close and intense cooperation with the aviation authorities in Albania and Russia has led both countries to adopt strong measures in order to control and contain any risks to safety of their air carriers flying into the EU. Therefore, no measures were necessary.
The updated EU blacklist includes 273 airlines from 21 countries.
