IADC lays out plans for African expansion

International Aero Development Corp. (IADC), a subsidiary of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), plans to progress in its African expansion.

IADC has reported plans to set up an aviation training center, two regional marketing offices, two maintenance and support centers, and three spare-parts warehouses to promote sales and maintenance for Chinese-made aircraft.
The developments will be constructed across Africa, in the Republic of Congo, South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya and Zimbabwe.
“We plan to use these installations to help our civil aircraft industry expand its presence in Africa's central and northwestern regions, our aircraft have proven more suitable for operations in Africa because they are more adaptable to tough use and bad infrastructure,” Zhang Guangjian, general manager of IADC said at the Aviation Expo China 2015.
AVIC reports that at least 80 per cent of trainer aircraft fleet operated by African air forces are manufactured in China.
By expanding into Africa, IADC will be able to continue its work in the region, whilst improving its services to African-owned aircraft.
