Scoot has taken delivery of the first of nine Embraer E190-E2s, making the carrier the first to operate this aircraft type in the Asia-Pacific region.

The aircraft will be registered as 9V-THA. The Singapore Airlines (SIA) LCC subsidiary leased the aircraft from Azorra in what is the third aircraft type in the carrier's fleet, alongside the Boeing 787-8/9 and the Airbus A320ceo/neo family.

The aircraft departed São José dos Campos, Brazil, on April 12, flying to Singapore for delivery on April 15 via the Canary Islands, Athens, Dubai and Hyderabad.

"I would like to thank Azorra and Embraer for their tremendous support," Scoot CEO Leslie Thng said. "The entry into service is not easy. I think it's not a walk in the park and definitely requires a lot of extensive resources, as well as thinking of all parties to make sure that whatever we have concluded, it is a win-win solution for all."
