Emirates planning another A380 boost

Emirates Airline looks set to remain the lifeline for the Airbus A380 programme.

The Dubai airline is already the world’s largest fleet operator of the type.

But in an interview with news agency Reuters, the airline’s president Tim Clark has revealed plans to buy as many as 120 Airbus A380s when it has new airport space available.

Clark also revealed that Emirates is also working with US manufacturer Boeing on the next generation of 777 jets.

Clark said Emirates is anticipating 20% year-on-year growth for the next five years will fulfill all of its 90 current orders for the A380 superjumbo.
