Dubai 2011: Rolls-Royce wins Trent order for 787
Rolls-Royce has won an order from Oman Air for Trent 1000 engines to power six Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
The airline is the first in the Middle East to select the Trent 1000 engine, which last month powered the first Dreamliner into service with Japan’s ANA.
Rolls-Royce has been selected in eight of the last nine Dreamliner engine competitions.
Oman Air currently operates seven Trent 700-powered Airbus A330s, all supported by Rolls-Royce’s long-term service agreement.
