Xmas Day Launch of TRK daily flights from Sabiha Gokcen to DXB
Turkish Airlines will begin daily flights to Dubai International from Istanbul's second airport - Sabiha Gokcen International on December 25. The service complements TRK's existing twice-daily service to Dubai from Istanbul Ataturk hub and the airline says the Sabiha Gokcen- Dubai service will be upgraded to 10 times a week from next March.
Emre Ismailoglu, the airlines’ general manager, Dubai and Northern Emirates, said: “The local market in Dubai, and the UAE in general, continues to generate strong sales, and I am very optimistic of the carrier's increased frequencies on this route.
“The additional flights will enable even greater opportunities for travellers for onward connections to Europe, the Middle East, and other parts of Asia. Travelling to Sabiha Gokcen will also enable passengers to access popular Turkish destinations like Bursa, Bodrum, Ankara, Samsun, Antalya, amongst others.”
TRK carried approximately 320,000 passengers from the UAE to Istanbul in the first nine months of this year – a year-on-year increase of 2.2%. Business/Comfort Class passengers increased by 6.3% for the same period whilst Available Seat Kilometres rose by 3.2%.
