World’s Largest Airline to make Inaugural Appearance at Routes Americas in Nassau

Routes Americas is now less than two months away and there have been several event developments over the Christmas period, here you will find some of the more interesting updates.

Routes Americas registrations are off to a flying start for 2012 with the confirmation that the World’s largest airline, United Airlines, will be in attendance at the event in Nassau leading to record airline attendance. Although a regular attendee at World Routes events this will be the first time that United will attend the regional event for the Americas. Vision Airlines, who have begun scheduled services out of Hartsfield - Jackson Atlanta International Airport both within the domestic US market and the Caribbean have also registered for the event this week.

In addition to the already confirmed Route Exchange Briefings which will be given at Routes Americas in February by British Airways (also attending Routes Americas for the first time) and TAM Linhas Aereas, Nicolas Rhoads, VP Strategic Planning, Aeroméxico has agreed to deliver a briefing focusing on Aeroméxico’s development within the Americas region. These briefings will provide a unique insight into the planning strategy of the airlines and we expect to announce further briefings soon.

New airport registrations include Oakland International Airport, Austin - Bergstrom International Airport and Chicago/Rockford International Airport who are returning to the event for the first time since 2008. This year’s Routes Americas will also see several airports attending the event for the first time with recent registrations from Gulfport-Biloxi Regional Airport Authority, Charlottetown Airport Authority, Columbus Regional Airport Authority, Kansas City International Airport, Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport, Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority and, most recently, Lakeland Linder Regional Airport.
