Wataniya Airways: Route Exchange Carrier

Kuwaiti Wataniya Airways started operations in January 2009 and its business model is focused on providing point-to-point services across the Middle East. Destinations in the network from Kuwait include Bahrain, Damascas, Jeddah, Beirut, Dubai, Amman, Cairo, Sharm El Sheikh, Istanbul, Rome and Vienna.

NETWORK STRATEGY:

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen became the first European city in Wataniya's network on May 2. The carrier continues its expansion into Europe and has since launched services to Rome on May 31, and three weekly flights to Vienna on June 2.

The leisure market is currently a focus for the carrier, which launched the Wataniya Holidays brand on June 2.
