Sunday World Routes Special - JetBlue To Link Tampa From San Juan

New York based jetBlue Airways has announced that it will begin a daily service from San Juan to Tampa, Florida beginning next May. IATA BSP data shows that between June 2009 and 2010, nearly 120,000 O&D passengers flew the route with American Airlines having an 84% share of the market. Fellow low-cost operator Spirit Airlines is the second largest operator on the route carrying 9% of the O&D market via its Fort Lauderdale hub. The JetBlue announcement is part of a strategy of growing its operations at San Juan and placing pressure on legacy operator American Airlines.
