Routes meeting leads to new service
Star Alliance member, Lufthansa plans to introduce a new daily rotation from its Munich hub to the Estonian capital of Tallinn. Network Planning Manager for Lufthansa in Munich, Marjana Zigun confirmed that the route was announced following a meeting between the two at The 15th World Route Development Forum in Beijing, China.
The new service will be introduced from March 26th and the daily flight will be with A319 equipment.Flag carrier Estonian Air currently operates a weekly service to Munich with B737-500 aircraft. Lufthansa itself does already operate to Tallinn from its Frankfurt hub on a daily rotation with a mix of B737-300 and -500 aircraft.
Estonian Air currently has a 69% passenger share between Tallinn and Munich, with the majority of indirect traffic flying Air Baltic through Riga and SAS through Copenhagen.
