Peru’s economic growth highlighted at opening of Routes Americas
Peru’s minister of foreign trade, Martin Perez, officially opened Routes Americas this morning (February 15) to local and international press. Also welcoming delegates to the annual route development event for the entire Americas was Jaime Daly, CEO of Lima Airport Partners and Jacqueline Saettone, director of PromPeru.
Peru’s impressive economic development over recent years was highlighted by David Stroud, chief operating officer of RDG, who remarked: “I first visited Lima five years ago and the airport’s development and the city’s growth since then is truly impressive.”
He continued by saying this particular Routes event is vital in bringing together airports and airlines from all across the region, from both North and South America as well as Central America and the Caribbean. “Latin America has proved to be a high growth area and this event will capitalise on that performance,” said Stroud. He added that interest in the region is strong, with the regional event attracting international delegates from airports and airlines from a number of European countries.
Over 300 delegates and exhibitors begin their one-to-one meetings at 09:00 this morning. Tonight, they will let down their hair at the gala dinner hosted by Lima Airport Partners.
