KOREAN AIR ADDS BANGKOK FROM CHEONGJU
大韩航空增加清州到曼谷航线
SkyTeam member, Korean Air, this week added a new twice weekly service from the regional airport of Cheongju to Bangkok with B737-800 aircraft. Korean already serves Bangkok from Seoul Incheon on a double daily rotation and a daily service from Pusan.

HAINAN FIRMS UP TORONTO SERVICE

Hainan Airlines has confirmed that from November 27th it will launch services from Beijing to Toronto Pearson, to be operated on a thrice-weekly rotation with A340-600 equipment. It will compete on the sector with Air Canada which operates a daily service with B777 equipment. IATA BSP data shows that over 133,000 O+D passengers flew the route between June 2009 and 2010 with Air Canada having 84% of this route. The only other market served from Beijing in Canada, is Vancouver which is served by Air China and Air Canada.

ASIANA BOOSTS HANEDA CAPACITY

Star Alliance member Asiana Airlines will increase existing capacity from its Seoul Gimpo base to Tokyo Haneda Airport effective October 31st. It will add a third daily service with A330-300 equipment. It competes on the route with All Nippon which operates 21 weekly flights, Korean Air, 14 weekly flights and JAL which operates 21 weekly flights.

FUJI DREAM ADDS TWO NEW SERVICES

Fuji Dream Airlines has revealed that for the coming Winter season it will add new services. Effective October 31st it will add a new five times weekly service from Nagoya to Fukuoka as well as a daily service to Fukuoka from Shizuoka. The low cost operator will operate the routes that are set to be discontinued by JAL.

HONG KONG EXPRESS TO RESUME OSAKA

Effective October 31st, Hong Kong Express will begin scheduled services to Osaka Kansai with B737-800 aircraft on a daily basis from Hong Kong. It will compete on a route served by Cathay Pacific 13 times weekly and All Nippon which operates a daily service with Air India also operating a thrice-weekly tag. IATA BSP data shows that over 620,000 O+D passengers have flown the segment between June 2009 and 2010 with Cathay Pacific having a 54% share of this existing market.
