AEROMEXICO ADDS CAPITAL LINKS

SkyTeam member Aeromexico has announced increased capacity from Mexico City to Buenos Aires (EZE), Argentina. From October 10th it will add a fourth weekly service, whilst effective November 15th a further fifth-weekly rotation will be added. Mexicana was the leading operator on this sector with a 37% share the total O+D market of nearly 140,000 passengers. Aeromexico will now be the only scheduled carrier operating the route.


170910-copa-AMERICASCOPA GOES DOUBLE DAILY TO URUGUAY

Copa Airlines will launch a double-daily service from its Tocumen base to Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. From November 30th it will increase its existing five-times weekly service to a daily, with the second daily coming into effect December 15th. Copa operates the sector with B737-800 equipment and is the only carrier currently operating the city pairs non-stop.

Copa will also increase scheduled flights into Mexico City which will become a 19 times-weekly flights, again the only carrier operating this route.


JETBLUE ANNOUNCES TURKS AND CAICOS170910-jetblue-AMERICAS

JetBlue Airways will begin services to Turks and Caicos in February next year with services from New York JFK, which will be operated daily from February 17th and a once-weekly seasonal service from Boston. Providenciales is currently served from North America by; American Airlines twice-weekly from JFK, and twice-daily from Miami, US Airways offers a twice weekly service from its Charlotte hub and Delta offers a once-weekly from Atlanta.


MEMPHIS TO GAIN NEW MEXICO CITY SERVICE

Delta Air Lines has filed to the DOT to begin services from Memphis to Mexico City, beginning January 8th, 2011. IATA BSP data shows that the majority of traffic currently transits via Houston IAH with Continental Airlines.

Effective December 4th Alaska Airlines launches a thrice-weekly service from San Jose to Los Cabos to be operated with B737-800 aircraft. IATA BSP data shows that 44% of the existing O+D market currently connects via Phoenix with US Airways as there is non non-stop service.
