AMERICAN AIRLINES TO ADD NEW BRAZIL SERVICE

oneworld member, American Airlines has outlined plans for new non-stop service from its Dallas Fort-Worth hub to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The flights will be operated on a seasonal basis commencing on a thrice-weekly rotation from December 16 till April 4th, then from 9th June to August 22nd, with a further winter resumption in November 2011. American Airlines currently operates 55 weekly flights from the US to Brazil. It offers ten-weekly flights from Dallas to Sao Paulo, as well as a daily service from New York, JFK also to Sao Paulo. From Miami, it serves four destinations in Brazil, thrice-weekly to Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro on a daily basis, Sao Paulo three-times daily and Salvador (SSA) on a daily basis.


A BUSY WEEK FOR DELTA AIR LINES100910-Delta-AMERICAS

Atlanta based Delta Air Lines has been busy this week with changes to its domestic network. From March 3rd the SkyTeam member, will add a four-times weekly service from Los Angeles to the US Airways stronghold of Phoenix. It will be operated with CRJ-900 equipment. IATA BSP data shows that between June 2009 and June 2010, over 670,000 O+D passengers have travelled between the city pairs with Southwest Airlines having a 69% share of this market.

Meanwhile, this winter season will see the folowing routes discontinued, summarised as;

Atlanta - Hilton Head Island Service cancelled from 31st October to 02nd March 2011
Columbus OH - Cincinnati four times daily service cancelled effective 18th December 2010
Detroit - La Crosse Service cancelled from18th December 2010 till 4th January 2011
Memphis - Alexandria LA Twice daily service cancelled effective 01st November 2010
Memphis - New York JFK Twice daily service cancelled effective 01st November 2010
Orlando - Grand Rapids Service cancelled from 31st October till16th December 2010


100910-Europa-AMERICASAIR EUROPA INCREASE CANCUN FOR W2011

Air Europa will increase its existing four-times weekly service from Madrid to Cancun to a daily service for this coming winter season. The flight is currently operated with B767 aircraft, however the service will be operated with A330-200 this winter. IATA BSP data shows that over 48,000 O+D passengers have flown the route between June 2009-10 with Air Europa having a 47% share of this market, followed by Aeromexico with a 17% share.


UNITED AIRLINES TO SERVE JACKSON HOLE

Chicago based United Airlines will launch roundtrip seasonal service from Los Angeles to Jackson Hole, WY. The service will be operated seasonally and will be effective December 16th until April 4th, 2011. The service will be operated with CRJ-700 equipment. United currently operates 31 weekly frequencies to Jackson from Denver and seven-weekly flights from Chicago.


AEROMAR MOVES IN ON MEXICANA ROUTES

Regional operator, Aeromar which has its main operating base in Mexico City has moved quickly to fill the void left in markets by Mexicana. On September 9th Aeromar launched services from the Mexican capital to Huatulco, twice daily and Puerto Escondido, daily, both operated with ATR42 equipment.

The carrier has also added four-daily flights to Veracruz and twice-daily flights to Leon.
