Jost Lammers.
Munich Airport (MUC) CEO Jost Lammers started a two-year term as chair of Airport Council International (ACI) World’s governing board composed of 28 airport CEOs.
The MUC chief executive was vice chair during the 2024-25 term. He succeeds Candace McGraw, the longtime CEO of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), who retired in June 2025, but served out her term as ACI board chair through the end of the year. Lammers has been MUC’s CEO since 2020.
Lammers’ “global experience, proven leadership and deep understanding of airport operations and policy come at a pivotal moment for our industry,” ACI World Director General Justin Erbacci says. “As airports accelerate innovation, strengthen operational resilience and advance sustainability, Jost’s ability to build consensus and drive strategic progress will be instrumental.”
In a Q&A posted on ACI World’s Insights blog, Lammers said ACI World represents more than 2,000 airports worldwide with “diverse regional realities … from privatization and funding challenges in some continents to sustainability and safety and security priorities in others. This makes competitiveness, sustainable financing and harmonized regulatory frameworks more important than ever.”
He wants ACI World to “deepen collaboration with ICAO and key industry partners,” adding,“Structured, consistent engagement will ensure airport perspectives are reflected in global aviation policy.”
Lammers, who has served on the ACI World governing board since 2019, says it is a crucial time for airports. “The aviation industry is indeed facing transformative changes, and airports are at the center of these shifts,” he explains. “From my perspective, airports need to accelerate decarbonization and implement sustainable practices while balancing economic and societal responsibilities. This is the only way to ensure our license to grow.”
