Meet The Winners: Roberto Luis

After being named the winner of the Individual Leadership Award at Routes World 2025 in Hong Kong, Roberto Luis reflected on the significance of the honor and the key opportunities that led to his recognition.

With more than four decades of aviation industry experience, Roberto Luis joined Corporación América Airports in 2012, where he played a key role in expanding the group’s presence in Brazil through Inframerica, the concessionaire of Brasilia Airport and the newly built Natal Airport.

Now serving as Head of Aviation Business Development for the group, he leads international strategy efforts to attract airlines, launch new routes and strengthen global connectivity.

Luis’ coordination of route development strategies across the group’s international airports has produced notable results. In 2025 alone, 55 new airline partnerships were established, generating more than 550,000 additional passengers.

Among the key achievements for both Luis and Corporación América Airports is Wizz Air’s new base in Yerevan, which launched in October 2025 and added eight new direct routes to Europe, providing 1.2 million annual seats for Armenian travelers.

Luis’ efforts to strengthen South American connectivity have also earned wide recognition across the industry. “His contribution has been key to build one of the strongest networks in Latin American aviation,” said Julio Solar, route planning director at SKY. Most recently, Luis played an instrumental role in supporting Gol Airlines’ new links between Buenos Aires, Punta del Este and São Paulo.

Daniel Kechibachian, CEO of Aeropuertos Argentina, highlighted Luis’ mentoring spirit and its impact on the organization. “Roberto has made a big change in our company. He teaches us, mentors us, and understands the airline’s needs,” he said.

Reflecting on the recognition after one of the most memorable moments of the Routes World 2025 Awards, Luis told Routes: “It’s a big honor to receive this award and I think it’s good for my team, to encourage them to follow a career in aviation.”
