Malaysia Airlines increases Jakarta frequency
Malaysia Airlines will launch a 6th daily freuquency from its Kuala Lumpur hub to Jakarta that it operates using B737-400 equipment.
The KUL-CGK sector is considered a trunk route and Malaysia Airlines faces considerable competition, with the following carriers operating the market pairs.

- Garuda - 9x weekly
- Yemenia - 2x weekly
- Lion Airlines 7x weekly
- KLM (tag) 7x weekly
- Kuwait Airways 3x weekly
- Air Asia (Indonesia) 28x weekly
IATA BSP data (Airport IS) shows that over 1 million passengers flew the route between Oct 08-09.
