Low cost carrier expands Grand Rapids operation

AirTran Airways has announced new non-stop scheduled flights from Grand Rapids (GRR) to the Florida markets of Tampa and Fort Myers (RSW). AirTran will be the only carriers operating these services on a scheduled basis. AirTran already serves Baltimore and Orlando from GRR and has a 7% share of the market. The largest carrier operating at GRR is Delta with 8 destinations and 171 weekly flights.
