KLM to open Hangzhou

Skyteam carrier KLM has announced that it will inaugrate a new scheduled service from its Amsterdam hub to the Chinese city of Hangzhou.

The new route will be operated on a 3x weekly basis and begin on May 8 using B777-200ERs.

The route marks the fourth destination in China to be served by KLM, as it currently operates the following markets:

• 12x weekly Shanghai
• 7x weekly Beijing
• 2x weekly Chengdu

The new route gives Skyteam its first access to Hangzhou from Europe. There is no other carrier operating the city pairs.
