King Abdulaziz International Airport Hits Record Passenger High In 2025
King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah handled 53.4 million passengers during 2025, the highest volume achieved by any airport in Saudi Arabia.
The airport, which handles millions of pilgrims visiting Mecca, processed more than 310,000 flights during the year and managed 60.4 million pieces of baggage, marking a 12% increase compared with 2024.
Air cargo activity also remained strong, with 2,968 cargo flights recorded over the same period.
Jeddah Airports Company (JEDCO) CEO Mazen Johar said, “Reaching 53.4 million passengers demonstrates the airport’s high operational readiness and marks a pivotal step toward its next phase of growth.”
He added that preparations are underway to double passenger capacity in the coming years to meet rising demand.
JEDCO was established in 2022 as part of Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector privatization program. The company is accelerating its global connectivity strategy, with plans to add more than 150 new destinations by 2030, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The expansion initiative aims to enhance travel options for passengers, strengthen international connectivity, and reinforce KAIA’s position as a leading global aviation hub.
