Jetstar connects Singapore with Shantou

Jetstar's inaugural flight to Shandou in China's Guangdong province departed Singapore Changi airport today.

It's the first foreign carrier to serve the route - which will be operated on a three-times weekly frequency.

Jetstar Asia and Valuair CEO Ms Chong Phit Lian, said: “This is Jetstar’s 2nd mainland Chinese market, which will provide an unprecedented direct flight links for Teochew descendents now based or living in Singapore and the Guangdong Province - as well as a convenient low fare flight offering for leisure and business travellers."

The flight schedule runs on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday between 1 February and 11 March 2010 and from 13 March 2010 departures will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
