Jetstar brands annnounce new services

Jetstar Asia has unveiled plans to add new flights from its main base of Singapore, to the Chinese city of Shantou. The new service will be operated on a 3x weekly basis with A320 aircraft, and marks the second Chinese destination served by the low cost carrier.

Jetstar Asia has plans to significantly grow its Singapore base with the addition of three new A320 aircraft in 2010. Currently in terms of flights operated it is the fourth largest carrier in Singapore, operating 114 weekly departures. The largest carrier is Singapore Airlines with a market share of 27%, followed by its low cost subsidary Silk Air and fellow LCC Tiger Airways.

Meanwhile, Jetstar Airways has announced new non stop service from Melbourne to Brisbane on a twice daily basis commencing July 01, 2010. Currently Qantas and Virgin Blue operate multiple frequencies.
