Industry Leaders sign up for Routes CIS Strategy Forum

This year’s Routes CIS event will open with the Strategy Forum on the afternoon of Sunday 24th June. Giving a valuable insight into aviation across the region, the programme will bring together high profile speakers in a combination of presentations and panel discussions addressing key route development issues affecting commercial aviation across the entire CIS region.

The first discussion session Accessing the CIS Market: bilateral and Barriers to Entry will discuss how carriers gain traffic rights to the CIS, what are the barriers to entry, the opportunities for low cost carrier growth and how quickly the regulatory environment can change. This session will include panellists such as Mr Alexander Schroll, Director Traffic Development for Munich Airport, Mr Emre Pekese, Director of Sales for Pegasus Airlines and Ms Marina Bukalova, Vice President, TCH Russia

Ms Marina Bukalova will also present a session entitled “Air Transport Traffic in Russia –main trends” which will cover traffic trends across the domestic market, European Russia, Central Asian, Siberia and Russian Far North.

Session two is entitled Attracting the Outbound CIS Leisure Market. This session promises to give a valuable insight into the Russian tourist market as the discussion will focus on the needs of Russian tourists, how large is the outbound market and how do destinations attract Russian tour operators and airlines.

Investment, Infrastructure & Improvements – Airport Development in the CIS will be the third and final session of the afternoon. This interesting discussion will be moderated by Ms Yolanta Strikitsa, Managing Director of Strikitsa Consulting and will explore some of the airport infrastructure and facility developments that are taking place within the region and on the importance of future airport investments as air traffic in the region increases. The panel will include Mr Sergey Likharev, General Director of Basel Aero Airport, Mr Mikhail Didoha or Mr Oleg Shpagin of Krasnoyarsk Yemelyanovo Airport and Mr Sergey Emdin, CEO of Saint Petersburg International Pulkovo Airport

The specially developed content and the interactive format will ensure that the Forum is a popular element of the event. Open to all Routes CIS delegates it is expected to be a thought provoking and lively afternoon and promises to be a stimulating and enjoyable start to this year’s Routes CIS event.
