High Level Speakers Confirmed for Routes Asia 2012

Respected aviation executive Vijay Poonoosamy, VP International & Public Affairs, Etihad Airways as well as Chairman of the IATA Industry Affairs Committee, has confirmed that he will lead one of the sessions at the Routes Asia Strategy Forum in Chengdu.

The Strategy Forum, which will open the event on the afternoon of Sunday 15th April, will be made up of three sessions discussing a range of aviation issues affecting the region. Mr Poonoosamy will moderate session two leading a number of high level panellists who have all confirmed their involvement in the event.

The session, entitled India’s Challenges, will discuss how India is opening up to the world whilst asking whether market regulations are stifling opportunities and panellists confirmed so far include Mr Sanjay Kumar, Chief Commercial Officer of IndiGo, Mr Rajeev Jain, President of Mumbai International Airport and Mr V.P. Agrawal, Chairman of the Airports Authority of India.

The first session of the forum; China – The Holy Grail, will be moderated by Mr Gordon Bevan, VP Consulting Services for ASM and will discuss how to do network development in China, what the rewards are and how large the market opportunity in China is.

Good Times and Bad, the third and final session of the afternoon, will involve a panel which includes Mr Tim Hunter, Chief Executive of Christchurch & Canterbury Tourism and Mr Wilco Sweijen, Director of Aviation Marketing for Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This session will attempt to answer how to cope with traffic downturns following economic and natural disasters? How to beat cyclical markets and what marketing tactics can be employed to stimulate traffic?
