Hainan firms up Toronto service

Hainan Airlines has confirmed that from November 27th it will launch services from Beijing to Toronto Pearson, to be operated on a thrice-weekly rotation with A340-600 equipment. It will compete on the sector with Air Canada which operates a daily service with B777 equipment. IATA BSP data shows that over 133,000 O+D passengers flew the route between June 2009 and 2010 with Air Canada having 84% of this route. The only other market served from Beijing in Canada, is Vancouver which is served by Air China and Air Canada.
