Delta Air Lines and Los Angeles World Airports unveiled the final major phase of the $2.3 billion Delta Sky Way at LAX project, with Terminal 3 at Los Angeles International Airport now directly connected to the Tom Bradley International Terminal via moving airside walkways, officially eliminating the need for busing between terminals.
 

A new $3.8 billion airport being built in Angola’s capital Luanda—New Luanda International Airport—will seek to position the southern African nation as a regional aviation hub once the facility opens before the end of the year.
 

FedEx Corp. will build a new cargo processing center at Istanbul Airport (IST), doubling its space at the Turkish hub. Subsidiary FedEx Express Europe currently operates via a shared, third-party facility at IST. The new FedEx-dedicated facility, targeted for completion by November 2024, will span 27,230 ft.2 (25,300 m2) and have the capacity to handle 3,000 pieces per hour.
 

Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) has set early November for the opening of its new 8-million-sq.ft passenger terminal. AUH says the new facility, to be called Terminal A, will have the capacity to handle 45 million annual passengers—more than twice the number of passengers AUH is expected to process this year. 
 

Houston Hobby Airport (HOU) won approval from the Houston City Council for $250 million in expansion funding, enabling the airport to start construction on a project to add seven new gates. Construction is set to begin in 2024 and last two years. The expansion will include seven gates that can accommodate both domestic and international flights. It will also feature an expanded and upgraded baggage handling system and baggage claim area.
 

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) in Texas broke ground on an expansion of its main terminal, part of a broader effort to upgrade the airport to meet high growth levels. The main terminal expansion project will add 84,500 ft.2 in space, including three new gates and a third-level outdoor public patio with views of the city skyline. The airport is targeting a 2026 completion for the project. 
 

Delta Air Lines has relocated operations at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) from Terminal B to the $2.7 billion Terminal A, completing the full opening of the new terminal. Terminal A started handling flights in January when the majority of the facility opened. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs EWR, says the terminal’s final five gates and a new Delta lounge are now open. The 1 million-sq.-ft. Terminal A is one of three passenger terminals at the airport, and replaces Newark’s former Terminal A, which opened in 1973.
