AIR ARABIA TO SERVE TRIPOLI
Air Arabia's Moroccan subsidiary, Air Arabia Maroc will launch a new service from its Casablanca base to the Libyan capital of Tripoli. The low-cost operator will operate the route from October 31st and will offer a four-times weekly rotation on the city pair. The route has seen over 71,000 O+D passengers fly the route between July 2009 and July 2010 with with Libyan Airlines having a 56% share and Royal Air Maroc a 37% share.
NEW CHINESE NON-STOP FOR EGYPTAIR
Star Alliance member Egyptair will transition its current one-stop service from Cairo to Guangzhou via Bangkok, to a non-stop service from December 15t. The route will be operated on a daily basis with B777 aircraft, on a route where Egyptair has a 76% share of the O+D market of 50,000 annual passengers.
NEW JORDAN ROUTE FOR MOSCOW DOMODEDOVO
Effective November 5th, Royal Jordanian is to add service to Moscow Domodedovo from Aqaba King Hussein International. It currently operates a thrice-weekly service from Amman to Moscow Domodedovo, with one of these weekly rotations now becoming a triangular service with Aqaba.
ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES ADDS NEW SUDAN LINK
Effective December 1st, Ethiopian Airlines will inaugurate a new four-times weekly service from Addis Ababa to Malakal, Sudan. The new route will be operated with Q400 aircraft and will be its third destination in Sudan, following Khartoum and Juba.
WATANIYA INKS AUSTRIAN AIRLINES CODESHARE
Kuwait based carrier Wataniya Airways has signed an interline agreement with Star Alliance member Austrian Airlines. Wataniya currently serves the Vienna to Kuwait City route on a thrice-weekly basis with Austrian having no scheduled service on the route.
