AIR MALTA SWITCHES ALL MILAN SERVICES TO LINATE

Effective December 1st, Air Malta will shift its existing services from Milan Malpensa and will add a fifth weekly flight into Milan, with all services now heading into Milan Linate. The switch to Linate will mean that easyJet is now the only scheduled carrier operating services from Milan Malpensa to Malta.


LUFTHANSA EXPANDS SHORT-HAUL SERVICES FROM FRANKFURT

Star Alliance member Lufthansa has revealed a significant expansion of its new short-haul services from its Frankfurt hub. Effective March 27th, it will add services to Bastia(once-weekly), Genoa (Twice-weekly), Olbia (twice-weekly), Palmermo (twice-weekly), Rostov (twice-weekly), Split (twice-weekly), Sylt (twice-weekly) and Trondheim (twice-weekly).


CROATIA AIRLINES SET FOR HAMBURG

Croatia Airlines has announced that it will begin new non-stop scheduled flights to Hamburg in the shape of a twice-weekly service from Split. The new route will be operated with a mix of A319/320 equipment from April 16th, initially on a weekly basis, becoming a twice-weekly rotation from May, 2011. There is currently no carrier operating schedule flights on this route.


AIR FRANCE TO BEGIN NEW COLOGNE SERVICES

SkyTeam member, Air France will begin new scheduled services from Paris CDG to Cologne effective January 10th, 2011. The new route will be operated twice daily initially, and then up to thrice-daily from February 10th. The route is currently operated by Lufthansa, 16 times weekly.


AIR ASTANA TO BEGIN ST PETERSBURG SECTOR

The national airline of Kazakhstan, Air Astana will begin new scheduled services to St Petersburg, Russia. The new service will begin December 2nd and will be operated on a twice-weekly basis with A320 aircraft. The route is currently served by SCAT thrice-weekly and Rossiya Airlines on a twice-weekly basis


FINNCOMM HEADS TO GDANSK

Regional operator, Finncomm Airlines will begin a new thrice-weekly service from its Helsinki base to Gdansk, Poland effective March 27th, 2011. Finncomm will operate the route with a Finnair flight number complementing the oneworld members existing services to Poland which consists of eighteen weekly flights to Warsaw.
