cityjetCityJet Launch Florence from London City Base

CityJet to launch London City - Florence from 22DEC10 on a 3 weekly service using Avro RJ85 equipment. This service is scheduled to increase to a 6 weekly operation as of 10JAN11. Flightbase schedule data shows the only other Florence - London service is currently operated by Meridiana Fly twice daily into London Gatwick using A319 equipment.


281010 NIKINIKI Launch Vienna - Madrid

From 28MAR11 NIKI are launching a daily Vienna - Madrid service operated with A319/320 aircraft. Flightbase data (OCT 25-31) shows the only other direct service is operated by Iberia on a double daily frequency, also using A319/320 equipment.


281010 SASNew European Services for SAS in S11

SAS is launching 4 new services within Europe for summer 2011. Form the routes that are being announced it is clear that SAS has taken an aggressive stance going head to head with Norwegian on three of the new routes for the carrier.

Oslo - Munich; 6 weekly service launched 28MAR11 to be operated using Boeing 737 equipment. This route is currently served by both Lufthansa and Norwegian.

Oslo - Palma de Mallorca; currently served by Norwegian twice weekly. SAS enters this market 30JUN11 with a 3 weekly seasonal service using 737 equipment.

Oslo - Split; twice weekly, seasonal service scheduled to start 12AUG11 and will be operated using 737 equipment. Norwegian also operates this route using a 737 on a 3 weekly service.

Stockholm - Venice; No existing scheduled service between Stockholm Arlanda and Venice Marco Polo Airport as SAS begins service twice weekly using M80 aircraft. There is however, a route between Stockholm Skavsta and Venice Treviso operated by Ryanair. SAS service effective as of 28MAR11.
