Ethiopian secures funds to boost fleet
Ethiopian Airlines has secured funds from the Export Development Canada (EDC) agency for the purchase of eight new aircraft that will operate on local routes.
The airline has signed an agreement with Bombardier Aerospace to buy eight Q400 NextGen turboprops, with the option to purchase four more.
Based on the price list of the NextGen aircraft, the total value of the firm order contract is approximately US$242 million and could increase to US$366 million if the option is exercised.
