Dallas/Fort Worth International Triumphs in Regional Marketing Awards

The winner of the first heat of this year’s Routes Airport Marketing Awards was announced last night at a lavish Gala Dinner in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Over 300 aviation professionals were gathered, taking part in the 4th Routes Americas – the only network planning event for all the Americas.

The Routes Airport Marketing Awards have become synonymous with recognising and rewarding the highest standards of marketing activities undertaken by airports. They work on the core principal that the people who are best placed to judge an airport’s marketing activities are its primary users: airlines.

This year, the heat had two categories: South, Central and the Caribbean, and North. In the first category, Queen Beatrix International Airport and Tocumen International were shortlisted while Princess Juliana International Airport in St Maarten was declared the winner. In the second category, Edmonton International Airport and La Vegas McCarran International Airport were highly commended, but Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport was crowned winner not only of that category but also overall.

Dave Stroud, Senior Vice President of Routes, said: “The standard of marketing activities undertaken by airports never fails to impress me. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport are worthy winners, and I am hopeful for them that their efforts will encourage many new routes and developments for them”.

Speaking exclusively to The HUB Daily after accepting the award last night, Luis Perez, Vice President Air Services Development, Dallas/Forth Worth International said: “On behalf of all our airline partners who voted for us, we are extremely delighted to accept this award which is testament to the efforts of over 1,700 employees who work hard to ensure we bring exceptional service to our customers every day.”
