Canadian ULCC Lynx Air will add flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to two major U.S. markets—one on each coast—for the 2024 northern hemisphere summer season.

From March 28, 2024, the airline will open service between YYZ and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). The all-Boeing 737-8 operator will fly the route 4X-weekly initially, rising to 6X-weekly starting April 22. Lynx will compete with Air Canada on the YYZ-BOS route.

From May 3, 2024, Lynx will start flights between YYZ and San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The route will be flown 4X-weekly initially, rising to daily service starting June 11, 2024. Lynx will compete with Air Canada, Porter Airlines and United Airlines on the YYZ-SFO route.

“Adding Boston and San Francisco to our ever-expanding network is a significant milestone for our airline,” Chief Commercial Officer Vijay Bathija says in a statement. “We are proud to offer an ultra-affordable link to connect the Toronto area market to both the U.S. east and west coast. Our strategy is to fly to destinations where airfares are historically high and low-cost options are limited.”

Lynx has been expanding its transborder flying since starting service to the U.S. in January. The airline opened flights to Tampa International Airport (TPA) from both YYZ and Montreal Trudeau International Airport (YUL) in November. Lynx also operates from YYZ to Orlando International Airport.

Flights from YYZ to Los Angeles International Airport and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport started in October. Service between YUL and Las Vegas Reid International Airport launched at the end of August.

Lynx will enter the Mexican market in February 2024 with daily flights between YYZ and Cancun International Airport kicking off.
