Brussels in London switch

Brussels Airlines has announced that it intends to switch its scheduled service from Brussels to London Gatwick, in favour of a move to London Heathrow. Currently, Star Alliance newest recruit operates 13 weekly services to the secondary London Airport with a mix of A319 and Avrojet aircraft.

The planned switch will take place from January 9, replacing BMI service which will be discontinued from Jan 9th.

The annoucement is the latest blow to London Gatwick as Brussels Airlines becomes the latest in a long line of carriers to move to Heathrow, which has improved connectivity and where yields are generally higher for network carriers. easyjet is now the largest airline customer at London Gatwick.
