Breeze Airways is set for a significant network expansion, unveiling 18 new routes and adding five new cities to its map.

The move will see the U.S. airline go head-to-head with rival Avelo Airlines in several markets and launch its first flights to Newark Liberty International Airport—marking the carrier's entry into one of New York’s three largest airports. Breeze currently serves Long Island MacArthur Airport, New York Stewart Airport and Westchester County Airport (HPN) in the New York area.

During the northern winter 2024-25 season, the Utah-based carrier will debut four new routes from Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) in Florida and start operations in Erie, Pennsylvania; South Bend, Indiana; and Wilmington, North Carolina.

The expansion also includes an increased presence at Fort Myers’ Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), where Breeze is soon to establish a base. Additionally, the airline will expand its footprint at several northeast airports, including adding two routes from HPN. With these new additions, Breeze will serve 64 nonstop destinations across 30 states.

The airline’s latest expansion will see competition with Avelo intensify. In July, Avelo announced new service from Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford to Wilmington International Airport (ILM) in North Carolina and DAB, along with a new route from ILM to RSW. In response, Breeze is adding all three of these sectors, as well as a Wilmington-Orlando route that is already served by Avelo.

Earlier this week, Avelo also unveiled plans to base a second aircraft at Wilmington Airport (ILG) in Delaware and add a new route to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, beginning on Nov. 8 and operating twice a week. Flights from ILG to Daytona Beach, Palm Beach and Sarasota-Bradenton will also return in November.
