AirAsia X announced this morning that it will start thrice-weekly service to Tokyo Haneda from Kuala Lumpur on December 9. This is its 12th destination in a network that covers Australia, India, Taiwan, China, Europe and Korea and will be operated with an A330 aircraft.

He added that tourism traffic from Malaysia to Japan has shown a 40% increase year on year to May 2010 and the new route will stimulate demand even further.
