BMI reduces capital links

Star Alliance carrier BMI has revealed that it will reduce its services on the LHR to Dublin route from a current daily service to a 4x weekly - commencing March 28th.

BMI currently operates A319 aircraft on the route and faces significant competition on the route:

  • Aer Lingus operates 88 weekly frequencies between DUB and LHR.
  • Between London Gatwick and Dublin Aer Lingus offers 25 weekly flights, and Ryanair 35.
  • Ryanair operates 49 weekly flights from Stansted to Dublin.
  • Ryanair also operates 21 weekly services between London Luton and Dublin.
